O Asian Handicap is a type of bet originated in Asia and is commonly used in bets soccer. It was designed to eliminate the possibility of a draw result, which increases the chances of winning a bet to 50% instead of the traditional 33.3% in a three-way bet (victorydefeat or draw).
The way it works is by giving certain teams a goal disadvantage or advantage to even out the odds. This handicap is applied to the final score of the match to determine the outcome of the bet.

Asian Handicap Table: in simple terms
- Handicap -0.75: If the team you bet on wins by 2 goals or more, your bet wins. If the team wins by 1 goal, you lose half your bet (half the bet is a draw, half is a loss). If the team draws or loses the match, your bet loses.
- Handicap -0.5: if the team you bet on wins the match, your winning bet. If the team draws or loses the match, your bet loses.
- Handicap 0.0: also known as a "no bet draw". If the team you bet on wins the match, your bet wins. If the match ends in a draw, your bet is returned (i.e. it's a draw). If the team loses, your bet loses.
- Handicap 0.5: if the team you bet on wins or draws the match, your bet wins. If the team loses the match, your bet loses.
- Handicap 0.75: if the team you bet on wins the match by 2 goals or more, your bet wins. If the team wins by 1 goal, you win half your bet (half the bet is a win, half a draw). If the team draws or loses the match, your bet loses.
In Asian Handicap betting, the handicap is applied to the team you are betting on.
This means that if you bet on a team with a handicap of -0.75, that team must win by at least 2 goals for your bet to be a total winner.
If they win by just one goal, half of your bet will be returned (push) and the other half will be lost.
If the team draws or loses, your bet loses. The opposite applies to positive handicaps.
The Asian Handicap can go to handicap +1, handicap -1 and much more. This table shows just one example of how this works.
