The defender from Amapá, Alline Calandrini, who currently plays for São Paulodefending the Santos, voltou a falar de futebol no portal do clube. Enfim, “Calan”, como é chamada carinhosamente pelos amigos e jogadoras santistas, demonstrou trust in his talent.

To the muse, women who play soccer still suffer from prejudice. But things are starting to change. Calan even encourages girls who like the sport to keep going, as women's soccer is experiencing a great moment.

During an interview with website of the club, in the "Star of the Sea" section, the muse also reveals that girls who play soccer are vain. Watch the interview below.

What will the Women's Brazil Cup, which starts in October, mean to you?
Alline Calandrini: We're very happy with Santos and the Brazilian national team. I hope it can change the way people see women's soccer. Santos provides support such as transportation and food. But women's soccer is never the same as men's soccer.

How do you see women's soccer here in Brazil? As with the men's game, do you dream of playing abroad?
Alline Calandrini: Absolutely! The goal of all the players is to serve the national team and play abroad. You earn more and there's a greater appreciation of the professional.

Are the players very vain? Is there a beauty ritual before they take to the field?
We're vain on and off the pitch. Before matches, most of us apply pencil and basic eye make-up. You can see that when we fall during matches, the first thing we do is fix our hair!

How do you deal with being the team's muse?
Alline Calandrini: I don't think it's just me. Santos has lots of pretty girls. It's nice, it's quiet.

How do you define yourself?
Alline Calandrini: I'm calm... but sometimes I get stressed, just like anyone else. However, I quickly forget what's bothering me and everything works out! I have my moments of seriousness and fun...

Where were you born? Are you dating?
In Macapá (Amapá). I'm single.

What's your hobby?
Alline Calandrini: I like to have fun, go out with friends, go to the gym every morning. Even training is a hobby for me.

What's your favorite food? Drink?
I love my grandmother's cooking, especially the rice and beans! Mineral water!

What was it like to carry the torch for the Pan American Games in Amapá?
Alline Calandrini: It was very exciting, very happy. An unforgettable experience.

What message do you have for girls who dream of playing soccer?
Alline Calandrini: I hope that Santos FC's achievements (Campeonato Paulista, Liga National and Regional Games) and the Brazilian national team (gold medalists at the Pan American Games and runners-up at the World Cup) can boost the dreams of girls who love soccer but weren't very optimistic about their future. Take advantage of the opportunity, because the sport is growing!

How did you become a footballer? What position did you play?
Comecei a jogar aos seis anos de idade. Profissionalizei-me há dois anos. Comecei no Juventus e atuo como zagueira.

How did you discover that you had the talent to be a player?
Alline Calandrini: I've been playing since I was young. I'm from Amapá. I started playing with the boys. I played for a little school and only turned professional two years ago. It was a dream of mine. I've learned a lot in those two years.

How did you get to Santos Futebol Clube?
Alline Calandrini: Through my teammates from my previous team (Juventus).

Are you hoping to make the Brazilian national team?
Alline Calandrini: I was called up twice to go to the Pan. It was a great experience. I'm looking forward to next year at U-20 level.

In women's soccer, there are many violent tackles like the one Coelho made on Kerlon in the Atletico/MG vs. Cruise? In fact, do you think it was a provocation?
Alline Calandrini: Kerlon plays like that, but as a defender it's difficult to leave it like that, you're in the adrenaline of the game. It was aggression, but not that violent. Women do play like that. It was Coelho's mistake.

Do female players still suffer a lot of prejudice when it comes to the stereotype that all athletes are masculine or homosexual?
Alline Calandrini: Prejudice is still a reality in women's soccer, but I think the tendency is for it to decrease, until it's completely broken down.

When you decided to become a footballer, did you suffer any kind of prejudice?
Alline Calandrini: I didn't suffer any prejudice. I've always had a life parallel to sport.

What is the biggest difficulty you face as a footballer? Here in Brazil, is it possible to support yourself just by playing soccer?
Alline Calandrini: Look, it varies a lot from player to player. Usually the teams give food, a stipend. I don't know if it's enough to rent an apartment or buy a car. The average salary is 700. Some earn 200, others a thousand.

Did you follow the World Cup in China? What do you think of Marta?
Alline Calandrini: No comment. The woman plays a lot, she puts on a show. Men and women drool over her. She's the Ronaldinho of women.

How would you play against Marta?
Alline Calandrini: She runs too much. I'd do anything to stop her.

What do you think about judging actions on the pitch using cameras?
Alline Calandrini: I think that's a privilege for those who watch. On the pitch it's very different. It's good for those watching the game.
